Chance to do what? Win the league? He's just done that.

Vardy will be a fucking idiot if he doesn't take this chance

>>> would you not say Vardy would fit into the Arsenal Style?

I think he could. But they play very differently from Leicester. Maybe they're adapting their approach?

Scattered thunderstorms (60% chance) are forecast for Thursday 16th June.

Might be best to BBQ undercover.

Another theory is Wenger might see Vardy as someone he wants in his Arsenal team?

Re: Jamie vardy
Pacey, Hungry, Eye for goal. One of the Prem's top goal scorers last year, English and available for 20 mill. Wages wont be quite as ridiculous as the top names. I dont think this is even a gamble for Arsenal.

He will score goals there.

Re: Jamie vardy
There are lots of players available right now, most of them aren't 'names' though. Shame you skipped the point.

Re: Jamie vardy
Well I'm sure if he could buy Benzema he would. That's the thing - Vardy is available right now.

Trevor B 5:29 Mon Jun 6
Re: Jamie vardy
I wouldn't exactly call Vardy a name player when Wenger has been chasing the likes of Benzema for the past year.

Re: Jamie vardy
Lots of strikers fail at clubs, others succeed. I don't really see the relevance of Torres particularly.

I just don't see that Vardy fits Wenger's previous transfer strategy at all. I could come up with a couple of theories. One would be that he's retiring next Summer and wants one more crack at it so doesn't need to buy for the future anymore - that would be quite irresponsible though. Another theory is that he's buying a name player early in the window to placate the unsettled/frustrated players in his squad - Ozil and Sanchez particularly.

Liverpool burnt him out and probably caused all his injury problems by playing him without rest whenever he was fit.

There's some hooky picture of vardy on twitter holding an arsenal shirt.

likely to be photo shopped.

Whilst I got the immediate feeling this is all wrong for Arsenal as he is a counter attacking player, there best spell under Wenger was with Thierry Henry and they were desvasting getting the ball up the pitch quickly.

Vardy is nowhere near Henry class but maybe not such a style change to accomodate Vardy.

That Torres miss at Old Trafford is still unbelievable how he doesn't score!

Trevor B 4:33 Mon Jun 6
Re: Jamie vardy
price opposed to injury record maybe. he scored half the goals in his final half season that he did the season before, yet played more games. im also not sure he fitted chelsea's style, but that's often what happens when the owner forces a player on a manager who doesn't want him.

I think it was more about the price. He did have injuries, but still scored 18 league goals in the full season before (in 22 appearances) and 9 before being sold in January.

Not to mention a decent record in Europe.

Re: Jamie vardy
Injuries hit Torres quite badly I think. he had an amazing first season, but that 07/08 was the most he played for them in a season. Looks like he had a couple of knee injuries and ligament/hamstring injuries and as said below in his final season for the mickeys he went quite off the boil considering his previous scoring record.

Re: Jamie vardy
Torres was actually pretty average towards the end at Liverpool though wasn't he? Wasn't prolific before he joined them then had two excellent seasons, got a few injuries and wasn't quite the same.

I don't remember anyone thinking Chelsea signing him was a great idea at the time
